Major trades include film and injection molded plastics, injection molded rubber aluminum- framed windows, farm production equipment, metal fabrication, dry milled corn, high-tech machined parts for turbine and aerospace industry and hybrid seed corn production. PEDCO, the Paris-Edgar County Development Corporation, should be your new business partner for expansion or relocation of industrial and commercial enterprises.PEDCO Paris, Illinois, is located in east-central Illinois at the hub of the Chicago-St. Louis-Indianapolis perimeter and convenient to three interstate routes. It is in position to offer an extensive "menu" of services and economic packages to attract expanded economic development.
PEDCO can also help renovate existing industrial property for a new owner and new product plus a new lease on your profitability.
PEDCO is a private, community not-for-profit corporation specifically chartered to promote economic development of the Paris-Edgar County, IL, area. Membership is composed of existing industries, businesses and individuals who recognize the importance of investing into the economic future of the area.
Management is placed in the hands of five directors. This dedicated group is small enough to move quickly and decisively to meet inquiries and requests from industrial prospects.
Primarily, PEDCO acts as the single contact point between industry, local and state agencies which may provide assistance for commercial and industrial expansion.
PEDCO CAN-
- Serve as contact with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Affairs which administers industrial development and community development assistance grants and low-interest loans.
- Provide a similar contact with the municipal and county governments concerning such services as industrial revenue bonds, tax abatement inducements, utility services and zoning.
- Serve as an intermediary for acquisition of property, conduct labor surveys or employment screening, and liaison with state agencies such as the Department of Transportation, Department of Labor, or Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.
The PEDCO board also has the consulting services of attorneys, civil engineers and land surveyors, environmental engineers, accountants, and a professional grant-writer.
